I joined Macmillan's Hexham supporter group with my mum Fiona a couple of years ago to give something back for the help that my family had from Macmillan when my dad had cancer. I decided to organise my own fundraising event for Macmillan called the ‘Let’s hand it to them Challenge’. I got my friends, family and local school children to make a donation to Macmillan and then make cut-out shapes of their hands, and then draw a design on them. I wanted to collect enough hands so that when you laid them all out they’d make up a mile.
